Aurora Soccer Club

The Aurora Soccer Club (ASC) was formed in 1997 when Saskatoon Youth Soccer Inc. (SYSI) adopted the zoning policy. Aurora is the governing organization for youth soccer in Zone 3. Our mandate is to promote and assist the development and enjoyment of soccer for youth in our zone. We also strive to develop the concepts of fair play, teamwork, competitive sportsmanship, ethical behavior and good fellowship among all those involved in our sport.

New Technical Director

Aurora Soccer Club is excited to announce the hiring of Sean Riggs as our new Technical Director.

Sean comes to us from Grande Prairie where he is presently the Director of Soccer Operations. Prior to his experiences in Alberta, Sean served as Technical Director for the Prince Albert Soccer Association. He was born & raised in Saskatchewan and has family in Saskatoon and Melfort. Sean has a wealth of coaching (National B Coaching Certification), teaching, and playing experience (played for U of S Huskies).

Sean will be starting in his position towards to end of July.

In his role as Aurora Soccer Club Technical Director, Sean will assist us in moving forward with our strategic plan which includes:

  1. Soccer development for ages & skill levels - development of recreational & competitive streams
  2. Coach development - work with the technical committee to develop coaching staff (certification & ongoing training) so players are receiving appropriate, high calibre training.
  3. Grassroots development - engage and continue to grow our community & U10 programs
  4. Creation of a 'cradle to grave' club where we will have opportunities for players that have grown beyond youth soccer

Aurora Soccer Club is always looking for committed volunteers to assist in a variety of initiatives and committees. As we move foward we anticipate the need for volunteers will increase.

Please contact any member of our Aurora Board for information.
